Roys Bespoke Tailoring
Roy and his wife Poulomi have been in the tailoring business for over 20 years, more than 10 running their own business. Originally from India, Roy came to Thailand to help with the translation for Russian tourists, having been studying medicine there. A student of both law and medicine, Roy has quite the repertoire! However, he turned his skills to tailoring, studying fashion design in both the UK and Germany and has a real passion for quality materials, which he proudly shares with his customers.
Many of these materials are exclusive to Roy and can be seen in the swatches that he can bring to you, or directly in his shop in Silom. He has dressed people around the world, including celebrities, who he discretely keeps anonymous.
Roy’s background is largely in female tailoring, where dresses start at around 12,500 THB and evening gowns 16,000 THB. He now has more male customers, where shirts start at 2800 THB and Men’s suits at 15,500 THB, with a vast array of quality materials and completely customized fancy lining options.
Rather than having to locate his offices, Roy and the team are happy to come to your office, your home or even a café nearby, if your tailoring need are out of work hours.
For men’s shirts, it is possible to order online, providing photos and measurements. With the wealth of experience he has, Roy can spot from a picture, if a customer has given incorrect measurements!
My experience was for a ladies' dress. For this, the customer is always measured, which was indeed the case for me. Roy appeared at my office exactly on time as agreed, with a humble and easy demeanor.
We discussed what I was looking for, and with a description of the kind of style and material I wished for, he took my measurements, then made further suggestions to enhance my design idea and to suit me.
We decided on a coral-coloured Thai silk, and when I asked how many fittings I would require, having had several dresses made over the years, and expecting at least 2, he confidently advised that 99% of dresses required only one fitting.
Fast forward a week later or so, the material I had ordered, arrived and soon after, I had a picture of the uniquely designed dress for approval. When it was convenient for me, Roy came back to the office for me to try on the dress and assess the fit.
The finished dress was even better than I had imagined, with a couple of improved design additions and indeed fit like a glove.
The dress you see in the picture cost 12,500 THB which is certainly not the cheapest dress I have ever had made, however, it I certainly the best material, including the lining and finish of any of my hand-made silk dresses. I won’t be going anywhere else in the future.
Ron’s Bespoke also make uniforms and sportswear.
